The 5th International Conference on Psycholinguistics will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan, China, from October 25th to 27th, 2019. The conference will take place on the Qingshuihe Campus of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Internationally renowned scholars (to be announced) in the field of psycholinguistics will be invited to give keynote speeches for the conference. Free training sessions on psycholinguistic studies will be offered on October 25th, 2019, including sessions on designing psycholinguistic experiments and conducting ERP data analysis, etc.



1. Conference theme

The conference will include, but not necessarily be limited to the following topics of interest:

1) Psycholinguistic research paradigms and methods

2) Psycholinguistic studies of L1

3) Psycholinguistic studies of L2

4) Bilingual processing

5) Neurocognitive studies of interpreting

6) Language disorder diagnosis and intervention

7) Interaction of language and social cognition

8) Language processing and artificial intelligence

9) Second language learning and teaching research



2. Sessions

This conference includes the following sessions: Plenary talks, colloquia, graduate student forums, oral presentations, and posters.

Plenary Talks. Plenary talks are scheduled after the opening ceremony and before the closing ceremony.

Colloquia. A colloquium is a 90-180 minute session where a small group of speakers address key issues related to the conference theme from various perspectives.

Oral Presentation. This includes 30-minute presentations on any topic related to the conference theme.

Graduate Student Forums. This forum provides opportunities for graduate students to report their ongoing works briefly to seek comments and suggestions.

Posters. Poster boards will be set up for authors to present and discuss their work with other conference attendees who have common interests.

The conference especially encourages proposals for colloquia. Please submit a

colloquium proposal with the title and presenter names online before May 1st, 2019, or contact the organizer for further help.



3. Abstract Requirements

1) The conference only accepts abstracts of unpublished and original research.

2) Multiple submissions per first author are not allowed.

3) Abstracts, in English or Chinese, should be confined to 300-500 words in the format of a Microsoft Word document. Please refer to the paper template for more details.

4) The title, authors, affiliations and correspondence (including email address) should be clearly included in the abstract, but not counted in the total number of words.



4. Abstract Submission and Acceptance

1) Visit the conference page of “The 5th International Symposium on Psycholinguistics in China” at http://CAP2019.allconfs.org

2) Register all required valid personal information when you first enter the website. Then, log in and click “Abstract Submission”.

3) Submission Deadline: For delegates who need to apply for travel visas, the

submission deadline is May 15th, 2019. For all other delegates, the submission deadline is August 15th, 2019. Abstracts must be submitted using the online submission system before the due date.

4) Abstracts will be reviewed after the submission deadlines. Invitation to the conference will be issued before June 1st, 2019 (for those needing to apply for travel visas) and September 10th, 2019 (for all other delegates).


5. Conference Rates

Online registration: RMB1000/Person (RMB500/graduate student).

Onsite registration: RMB1200/Person (RMB600/graduate student).

Attendees are responsible for their accommodation and transportation costs.

All individuals who submit proposals/abstracts are required to register online before September 27th, 2019. The conference program will be based on the online registration only.
